First of all I would like to say that this is about as good as it gets.
The collection was by far the best collection I have seen this week, and I am pretty sure it might just stay that way. Many of you might not know Sally LaPointe by name, because it is a fairly small label, but I can almost guarantee that you have seen her fantastic work on celebrities such as Lady Gaga. I have been a fan of LaPointe for a while and I was very excited when I was lucky enough to receive an invitation (and a great seat).
The collection is, like LaPointe is known to be, futuristic and built on advanced architectural/structural shapes.
The shapes paired with the shoes have a feeling very reminiscent of Plato’s Atlantis, which I and many with me consider the holy grail of conceptual fashion. I think that Sally LaPointe has a more futuristic approach and obviously a more minimalistic one as well. Her collection is structurally interesting and intellectually appealing.
While Sally LaPointe’s patterns are great, the solid color pieces are my favorites. The first outfit (shown on gorgeous model Malene Knudsen) is great and so are the black outfits in the end. (Show also featured Karmen Pedaru and Eugena Kim)
